National Technical Symposium

Department of Aeronautical Engineering of PARK College of Engineering & Technology, Conducts an annual National Level Symposium cum workshop called “FLIEGEN”. Here the students are motivated to build, perform, present, experiment whatever they have learnt in the curriculum plus knowledge gained through Industrial visits, projects, training and discussion on various aerospace related subjects. Students from other colleges are invited to participate and compete in various competitions. Activities of this kind help the students to assimilate what they have learnt, develop competitive spirit to bring out the best by innovation, gather scientific and technical information about the current developments in aerospace industries and draw and present what they have achieved or understood.

Several events like “design, make and fly various models like parachutes” improve the knowledge of participating students. Paper presentation enables the students to read and learn the latest in the aero engineering field, organize the content and present it to the audience.

Water rockets and rocket design games help the students build models using basic principles and commonly available materials. Drawing competition enables the students to improve their software drawing skills and use all the tricks of the trade in coming out with an innovative design. The game on accident investigation (concy &Princy) enables the students to look for clues which can give away the cause of accidents. Glider design competition makes the students understand low subsonic aerofoils with a very high CL/CD ratio and use it with a glider to get a long endurance glider.

All Engineering students should cultivate their technical/current knowledge in aerospace domain and also their communication skills. Towards this competitions like Quiz/Debate have been included.

The overall objective of the National Level Technical Symposium is to provide a platform to test their skills and asses themselves the kind of professional expertise they achieve during the course of the stay in the college.
